I have done three out of four things right with climate. I eat only plants. I do not drive. I do not fly. Three for four. My failure that torments me every day is that I have not been able to convince all of my friends and fam. That is my failure. I just never figured out how.
I read Skeptical Science. They read delayist web pages like Omni or DN. And some of them voted for delayist politics.
Many of my friends and fam fly more than the average. (Some don’t and that’s no thanks to me but I appreciate it all the same. ♥︎) And when I talk to them it’s clear that they aren’t making this decision informedly. They don’t know how urgent and how big the question is.
So that’s all on me I guess. I didn’t exlain it clearly and credibly enough. They think I’m a hysteric exaggerator. If I had been saner or well-adjusteder or healthier instead of crazy-aunt-madwoman-in-the-attic I had been more credible and they woulda listened. But I wasn’t so they didn’t.
And I knew how bad it was. It’s not their fault because they didn’t know but it is my fault because I did. Everytime they go on a recreational airplane trip I might as well be fueling up that jet because I knew and I let them. I tried pleading and begging them not to but because I’m such a no-count loser they can’t hear it. They just hear it as crazy talk.
